Best Locations for Scottsdale Wine Tasting

Local Info | May 23, 2021 | SWSS Staff

If you’re searching for the best spots for wine tasting in Scottsdale, you’re in luck. Old Town Scottsdale is filled with wine tasting rooms that feature local Arizona wines and wines from across the country.

The best part? You don’t even have to drive to and from each winery. Just walk along Marshall Way to Main Street on the Scottsdale Wine Trail—a collection of five tasting rooms located less than a mile apart from each other.

The Scottsdale Wine Trail is a great way to tour the city while having fun. It’s great for events with friends, like a bachelorette party, or even the perfect way for out-of-town guests to enhance the sightseeing experience.

Here’s a look at each destination you’ll experience on the Scottsdale Wine Trail!

Merkin Vineyards Tasting Room

Location: 7133 E. Stetson Dr., Ste.#4; Scottsdale

At the Merkin Vineyards Old Town Scottsdale tasting room, you can drink wines from both Merkin Vineyards and Caduceus Cellars—both owned by MJ Keenan. Caduceus Cellar produces Italian and Spanish wines from grapes grown in Arizona’s Verde Valley, whereas Merkin Vineyards creates their wines from the 70-acre Buhl Memorial Vineyard in Wilcox, Arizona.

Aside from wine, Merkin Vineyards also has one of the most extensive menus along the Scottsdale Wine Trail that features food and non-alcoholic drinks.

Some menu items include artisanal cheeses, like Goat Cheese, Gouda, and Manchego, small bites, like white bean hummus and bacon-wrapped dates, and shareable places, like mushroom focaccia and salads.

After stopping at the first three wineries, this is an excellent location to enjoy a late lunch, or you can stop at another restaurant along Marshall Street or Main Street in Old Town Scottsdale for dinner.
